Hillsboro, Oregon is situated within the states Washington County. It is likewise part of the Portland metropolitan area and has an approximate population of around 91,600. Lots of high-technology businesses make up what is called in the area as the Silicon Forest.

The Tualatin Valley was originally inhabited by the Atfalati tribe of the Kalapuya for thousands of years.
