Aurora is a town within Ontario Province, Canada. The town is located around 20 km north of Toronto within York Region. It is considered part of the Golden Horseshoe region of Southern Ontario and Greater Toronto Area.
Aurora is an affluent town with a population of about 53,000. It has a historical downtown and is partly situated on the Oak Ridges Moraine. York Catholic District School Board and York Region District School Board have head offices within the city of Aurora. The inhabitants of Aurora benefit from various private and public educational facilities, like for instance daycare, nursery, secondary and elementary schools, in addition separate French language Schools and Catholic Schools.
York Region District School Board is situated on 60 Wellington Street West. The School Board operates the secular public school education system within York Region, that consists of several elementary schools and two high schools in Aurora: Dr. G.W Williams Secondary School and Aurora High School.

The Conseil Scolaire de District Catholique Centre-Sud operates a French-language Catholic elementary school: the Ecole St. Jean, and a French-language high school: the Ecole Secondaire Catholique Renaissance.
