Detroit, the seat of Wayne County, is the biggest city within the U.S. state of Michigan. Located within the northern portion of Windsor, Ontario, it is the only major city that is close to Canada. The city of Detroit is called the world's conventional automotive center. It most popular nicknames include: City of Champions, The Motor City and Motown, Arsenal of Democracy, The D, D-Town, Hockeytown, Rock City and the 3-1-3. Its residents is about one million.
