Terex Electric Scissor Lifts

Terex Electric Scissor Lifts

How to Charge a Scissor Lift
Lots of people value the convenience of using a scissor lift. The ease of working and the security offered from the lift's basket offer much more piece of mind than attempting to carry out a similar task using the rung of a ladder. The safety risks involved with this machine make it the right option for carrying tasks from heights.

The majority of scissor lifts are operated by batteries which are internally mounted inside the lift's base. These batteries have to be charged after a long shift or due to sitting after extended periods without use. It is a simple job to charge the batteries. This can be carried out without any particular equipment or tools and needs no heavy labor.

So as to prepare the scissor lift for charging, park the machine near an electrical outlet. Make sure you are doing this in a well-ventilated place. Then, in order to avoid another operator from driving away with the lift plugged in, press the emergency shut-off switch. The emergency shut off switch is the big red button situated near the control box or the charger, inside the basket of the lift. Find the battery charger on the right side of the base of the lift. Normally, older units would have the charger mounted on the back of the lift.

The AC extension cord must next be plugged into the charger. Be certain to charge in a well ventilated area and plug the cord into an electrical outlet. In order to avoid accidental damage from being run over, the length of the electrical cord on the battery charger is intentionally short. This is because if any excess length were to drop out of the battery charger storage place while in use, extreme danger can likely take place.
